For batter: mix all the ingredients except paneer and oil and prepare smooth batter. Keep aside. Cut the paneer pieces vertically sliced. Keep aside

Take a pan.add oil to it. Allow oil to sufficiently heat. Now dip a piece of paneer to the batter and then to the pan. Repeat the process for other pieces. Fry in small batches. Do not overload the pan.flip the sides and fry till golden and crisp.

Sprinkle some chaat masala and serve immediately with imli chutney.
