Ingredients

  1. ForDhokla/semolina sponge squares
  2. 1 teaspoonsugar
  3. 1 bowlsemolina
  4. 1/2 bowlcurd
  5. 1 pinchAsafoetida
  6. 1-2 pinchSalt
  7. 1/2 PacketEno (without flavour)
  8. 1 bowlwater
  9. 2green chillies and some coriander leaves paste
  10. ForTadka/Tempering--
  11. 1-2 teaspoonsoil
  12. 5-6Green Chillies
  13. 1 teaspoonSmall mustard seeds
  14. 1 teaspooncaster sugar
  15. 1/2 teaspoonsalt
  16. Handfulcurry leaves
  17. 1/2lemon juice

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix all the ingredients for batter in a mixing bowl, whisk it and keep it to rest for 20 minutes.

    Now make a set up to steam dhokla on the gas stove and grease the baking plate..

    After 15 minutes add eno to the batter and pour it on the baking plate.

    Put on gas stove for 20 minutes and let it steam and open once cooked, it should look like this

    Prepare for tadka/tempering.

    Put all the tempering ingredients 1 by one to the pan.

    Pour tadka on the Dhokla. Restaurant and shops style Dhokla is ready.
