The filling is that of Non-Veg in this particular version. However filling can be entirely your choice. Hara bhara Kheema is a Lamb mince preparation with Green Leafy Veggies in particular and hence I named them so. Apt for people of all ages and makes for an excellent snack at tea-time.

Ingredients

25-30 minutes
6 servings
  • 18-20Puff Pastry Sheets readymade
  • 400 gmMutton Mince
  • 1 tspGarlic mince
  • 1Onion finely chopped
  • 1 cupCabbage shredded
  • 1 cupSpring Onions
  • 2-3Green Chillies finely chopped
  • 1/2 cupGreen Peas boiled
  • 1 tspSalt or to taste
  • 1 tspBlack Pepper powder
  • 1 tspCumin powder
  • 2 tbspOil
  • 1small bunch Coriander Leaves finely chopped
  • 1Egg beaten
  • 1-2 tbspBlack Seeds or Kalonji

Steps

25-30 minutes
  1. 1

    In a pan, heat oil and saute some garlic at first. Followed by sliced onion. Next, add the mince and saute it for 3 to 4 minutes on a low heat.

    Now add the chopped veggies. Stir fry them on a low to medium flame by stirring occasionally. Add the rest of the spices too.

    Do not cook much. It should be stir fried and take care that it should not be mushy. The veggies should retain the crunch. Sprinkle garam masala on top and garnish with chopped coriander. Squeeze some lemon juice too.

    Allow to cool down a bit and then fill a tablespoon of this mix in the centre of the pastry sheet squares and close it shaping like a triangle. Press the edges firmly and using a fork give it a nice design on them.

  5. 5

    Give them all an egg wash and sprinkle some black seeds on top. Bake in a preheated fan assisted oven on the last rack on 180° for about 25 minutes. Serve hot with garlic sauce or ketchup.
