Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsbread flour/all purpose flour
  2. 2 tablespoonsmelted butter
  3. 2 teaspoonsyeast
  4. 3 tablespoonssugar
  5. 1/4 teaspoonbaking powder (to reduce smell of yeast)
  6. 1/2 teaspoonsalt
  7. 1egg
  8. 1/2 cupwarm milk
  9. 10smoked sausages

    In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, yeast and baking powder. Make a well at the center and add the egg and melted butter. Mix together until a soft dough is formed. Knead until it’s smooth and elastic about 10 minutes by hand and cover it to rest for 1 hour until it doubles in size

    Boil 10 smoked sausages in boiling water for about 7 minutes. Remove from water and set aside.

    Deflate the dough, and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Divide the dough into 10 equal pieces, and roll it out into a rope long enough to wrap around the sausage about 2-3 times

    Wrap the rolled dough around the sausage and place them on lightly greased and floured baking sheets at least 2 inches apart. Cover the rolls with a damp cloth, and let rise until doubled in size, about 30 minutes

    Whisk an egg yolk and 2 teaspoons of milk together and brush the surface of the bread rolls then place in a 175 degrees celsius preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes or till golden brown
