Steps

Chop roughly onions, tomatoes and ginger.

In a wok heat 1 tbsp oil, add 1 tbsp Urad Dal, chana dal, whole red chilli and sauté. Add chopped onion, ginger and tomatoes. Sauté for 1 min, add Red chilli powder, tamarind water(extract the seeds) and salt, stir and keep on low flame covered for 15 mins.

Cool and puree. Pour onto a serving bowl.

In a wok heat oil, add rai, curry leaves, Urad Dal and stir for few seconds, pour onto the Chutney and enjoy hot.
