Ingredients

6 hrs total
5 to 6 servings
  1. 750 gmsFish fillets (marinated with salt and 2 lemons)
  2. 5 Garlic cloves
  3. 1/2 CupWater
  4. 1/4 CupLemon juice
  5. 1 tbsp (Cumin seeds) crushed
  6. 1 tsp (Carom seeds)
  7. 1/2 tspGaram masala powder
  8. 1 tbspLal mirch (Red chili) crushed
  9. 1 & ½ tbsp (Coriander seeds) crushed
  10. 1 & ½ tbsp (Red chili powder) or to taste
  11. 1 tbsp (Salt) or to taste
  12. 1/2 tsp (Turmeric powder)
  13. 1 Cup (Gram flour) sifted
  14. 1/2 cupcornflour
  15. if required (Water)
  16. As requiredOil for frying
  17. For Chutney dip
  18. handfulCoriander leaves
  19. 1 tspcoriander seeds roasted and grinded
  20. 7-8garlic cloves
  21. 1/2 lemon juice
  22. as per taste salt
  23. 2Red whole dry chilli
  24. 3Green chillies

Steps

6 hrs total
  1. 1

    Cut fish in bite size and Marinate it with lemons and salt for about 2 hours.

  2. 2

    On fish pieces,add sifted all-purpose flour & set aside for 15 minutes.

    In blender,add garlic,water and blend well.

  3. 3

    In bowl, add lemon juice, garlic water, cumin seeds, carom seeds, garam masala powder, red chili crushed, coriander seeds, salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder and mix well.

  4. 4

    Add gram flour, cornflour and mix well.
    Add water if required and mix well to form a thick batter.

  5. 5

    Add fish fillets and coat well,cover and marinate for 3 hours.

  6. 6

    In wok,heat oil and fry fish until golden brown.

  7. 7

    For chutney grind all given ingredients with some water until it into a smooth paste.

  8. 8

    Serve hot & crispy lahori fish bites with chutney.
