Ingredients

  1. 5large potatoes
  2. 7eggs
  3. 5 1/3 ozcheese (150 grams)
  4. 1 lb (2 oz)beef (500 grams)
  5. Soy sauce
  6. Mustard
  7. 1/2 cupwater (120 ml)
  8. Seasonings to taste
  9. Oil
  10. 1/2onion (optional)

    Peel the potatoes and slice them. Place them in a pot with cold salted water and cook over low heat until the water starts to boil (add the half onion if using).

    Cut the beef into small pieces and place them in a bowl. Add half of the beef to soy sauce and a little mustard. Add cold water until the beef is covered (season with pepper and cumin to taste). Stir and let it rest.

    Once the water boils, drain the potatoes (they should be about 3/4 cooked). Chop the onion and set aside.

    Fry the potatoes in hot oil without letting them brown. Save the oil for later use.

    In another skillet, pour in the contents of the bowl and cook the beef. Once it starts to boil, add the chopped half onion.

    In a skillet or covered baking dish, add a little oil and a layer of potatoes. Then cover with half of the beef and its juices. Layer sliced cheese over the beef. Add another layer of potatoes, and repeat until all ingredients are used.

    Beat the 7 eggs with salt and pour over all the ingredients. Cover the skillet. Cook over low heat.

    After 15 minutes, flip the entire casserole, adding more oil. Cover and cook over low heat for another 15 minutes, until the cheese is melted.

    Place the casserole on a large plate and cut into 4 servings.
