Steps

Peel the skin of the bottle gourd and grate it leaving the middle part of the seeds.

Now take a pan, add a tsp of ghee and fry the dry fruits till golden brown. Keep them aside.

Now in the same pan, add 2 tsp ghee again and put the grated bottle gourd in it and fry it for about 2 to 3 mins till the water released from lauki gets absorbed.

Now add milk to it. Cook for about 5 mins, covering the pan. Now add a pinch of food colour if required. Cook it for 2 more mins.

Now add mawa, dry fruits, cardamom powder and sugar. Cover it & cook it more for a while till ghee starts releasing from the halwa..pour a tsp of ghee now and your halwa is now ready...
