Heat half n half until hot (not boiling), then set aside.

Put egg yolks and sugar in bowl and whisk until well blended and slightly thickened

Add half n half to egg mix gradually then return to heat at medium until small bubbles form around edges and steamy.(mix constantly and don't boil)

Transfer to large bowl and mix in whipping cream.vanilla and salt. Chill for about 8hrs.
