Ingredients

  • 500 gmrice
  • 350 gmjaggery
  • 50 gmwhite sesame seeds
  • 1 tbspsaunf
  • 1 pinchsalt
  • Oil/ghee to deep fry

Steps

    Clean,wash and soak the rice overnight/5 hours in minimum.

  2. 2

    Decant the water and spread the soaked rice, on a muslin cloth, under the fan, to dry all water, present with the soaked rice.

  3. 3

    Grind the rice to a powder like sooji.

  4. 4

    In a wok take 1/2 cup water. Add pieces of jaggery and bring to boil.

  5. 5

    Mix the saunf with the jaggery and cook till jaggery thicken.

  6. 6

    Add rice powder in batches and mix continuously till all rice flour, used to form the Arisa dough. Allow to cool the dough.

  7. 7

    Heat oil /ghee in a wider pan. Make balls out of the dough. On a butter paper,take some sesame seeds.

  8. 8

    Press the balls lightly on the both sides.

    Deep fry both the sides of Baroda pitha on medium flame and serve hot the delicious Pitha.
