Deep fried and absolutely delicious Rohu Fish with simple Boiled Rice and Khatti Daal is a great hit with us Hyderabadis. We also make Machli Ka Khatta sometimes but the former is always a better choice of my family. This is the most loved Fish in our family due to it's awesome flavour. Both small and large Rohu Fish is available and are great in terms of taste and texture. It's more meaty and has an advantage over other umpteen varieties of Fish available in the Country because of it's amazing taste. It just melts in your mouth and satisfies our craving for something flavourful and yum.

Ingredients

30-35 minutes
5-6 servings
  • 2 kgRohu Fish (medium)
  • 2 tbspGinger garlic paste
  • 2 tbspSalt
  • 3-4 tbspRed Chilli powder
  • 1 tspTurmeric powder
  • 2-3 tbspCumin powder
  • 2-3 tbspCoriander Powder
  • 2 tbspLemon juice

Steps

30-35 minutes
  1. 1

    Wash and clean all the pieces well. Allow them to drain in a colander. Now add these pieces to a big bowl so that's it's easier to mix everything well.

    Add all the spices mentioned to the bowl. Taking care, mix well so that the Fish pieces gets coated with all the masalas really well. Cover and set aside for atleast 2 hours or even more.

    Deep fry them in hot Oil on a medium high to high heat until golden brown and done on both the sides. Serve them with Boiled Rice, Khatti Daal and Sliced Onions. You will absolutely love this combo. My family loves it this way. Enjoy!
