Ingredients

30 minutes.
4 persons.
  1. 1 kgluffa(tori)(ridge gourd)
  2. 1 cupmoong dalbadi(you may take gram badi as well.)
  3. 2 tbsponion paste
  4. 1 tbspginger -garlic paste
  5. 1 tspturmeric powder
  6. 1 tspred chilli powder
  7. 2 tspcoriander powder
  8. 1 tspblack pepper powder
  9. 1 tspmustard powder
  10. to tasteSalt
  11. 4 tbspmustard oil
  12. 1/8 tspmethi(Fenugreek) seeds

Steps

30 minutes.
  1. 1

    Peel and cup cut luffa into 4"×1" long pieces.Keep aside.

  2. 2

    Heat 1tbsp oil in a pan.When hot add bafis and saute for 1 minute.Take out and keep aside.

  3. 3

    Heat remaining oil in the same pan.When heat well add methi seeds.Let the seeds blacken.

  4. 4

    Lower the flame add onion and ginger -garlic paste.Stir.Add 1 tbsp water and cook for 2 minutes on low flame.

  5. 5

    Add all powdered spices to the pan,stir.Add 1 cup water and add salt also.Cook on low flame for 5-6minite till the spices are cooked well.

  6. 6

    Add moong dal badis and luffa.Stir well.

  7. 7

    Cover and cook on low flame for 10 -15 minutes.

  8. 8

    No need of adding water as luffa has a lot of water and veggi cooked in it's own water.

  9. 9

    Cook till luffa is soft.Serve with boiled rice.
