Hyderabad's very unique identification is it's worldwide famous Karachi bakery's cookies. And another very popular are osmaniya biscuits. Which are often taken with tea or Irani tea, as they are little sweet-little salty with hint of saffron flavour.
Homemade cookies are good over readymade as good quality butter or fat is used. And they are almost similar to readymade, equally soft and crunchy.....so must try recipe

In a bowl take all dry ingredients (all-purpose flour, milk powder, custard powder, baking powder, cardamom powder, salt). Sieve once or twice. In another bowl take butter and sugar and beat well till smooth and fluffy.

Now add dry mixture to butter and form a smooth dough gently. If required use a little quantity of milk at a time. Now roll the dough of 1/2 centimetre thickness and cut cookies of your favourite shape with cookie cutter.

Preheat the oven at 170° for 10 minutes. Now arrange cookies in a baking tray. Pour a little saffron milk on all cookies. And bake them for 15-20 minutes. Cool down them on grill.

So Osmaniya biscuits are ready. Serve them with tea. Can store for 10-15 days.
