Gulab jamun

Gulabjamun is a type of Indian sweet which is loved by almost everyone. It is very easy to make using a premix. Here I have used milk powder and added a few things to it and prepared Gulabjamun which is also a very quick and easy method.

Steps

First of all mix milk powder, plain flour, semolina, baking powder and ghee in a bowl. Now start adding milk and mix it well. Cover and rest it for 10 minutes.

Mix sugar and milk in a pan and put it on medium heat and heat for 10 to 15 minutes stirring occasionally. Add cardamom powder and saffron to it and mix it. Turn off the heat.

Divide the gulabjamun mixture into 20 equal portions. Now grease your hand with ghee and make smooth crack free balls out of it.

Heat ghee or oil on medium heat. Now add prepared gulabjamun to it and fry it on medium to low heat until brown in colour. Fry all the gulab jamun in batches. Let it cool down for 10 minutes.

Now add prepared gulabjamun to warm sugar syrup. Stir it carefully so that all the gulab jamun are coated with the sugar syrup. Now cover and leave it for 3 to 4 hours so that the sugar syrup is soaked properly by the gulabjamun. stir in between for two to three times.

Prepared gulabjamun can be served warm or cold according to your choice.
