Sift flour in a bowl, add sugar, salt and mix

Dissolve milk, yeast and egg in a separate bowl, whisk to combine

Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients. Knead to form a dough ball

Transfer to work surface dusted with flour, rub in butter and knead till well combine. Knead and beat for about 10min.

Transfer dough to a greased bowl. Rub oil on the dough surface and keep warm till doubled in size

Punch down the risen dough to remove air

Knead dough again for 2-3min.divide the dough into 12 pieces

Roll out each piece into a long rope. Take 3 of the long piece and hold the tip together as shown in the picture. Braid and pinch in the last edges

Cover and allow it rise again

Fry in hot oil over medium heat until both sides are golden brown. Roll each in sugar and serve. You can also eat plain or serve with syrup
