Pakoda is also called as fritters, pakora, pakodi & bhajiya. It is a deep fried snacks made by batter using mainly gram flour, Indian Spices and herbs.This is a standard batter to prepare any type of pakoda with dirrerent vegetables like potato, onion, spinach, cabbage, tomato,Fenugreek, cauliflower, eggplant etc. Here, I would like to share recipe of Methi Pakoda ( Fenugreek fritters). Indians are like to enjoy this pakoda in monsoon season as breakfast & refreshments with coriander chutney, tomato sauce or masala tea.

Ingredients

  1. 150 gmgram flour
  2. 50 gmsemolina
  3. 100 gmMethi leaves (Fenugreek leaves) (finely chopped)
  4. 20 gmcoriander (finely chopped)
  5. 2Green chillies (finely chopped)
  6. 1onion (finely chopped)
  7. 2 tspGarlic (finely chopped)
  8. to tasteSalt
  9. 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  10. 1/2 tspRed chilli powder
  11. 1 tspCumin coriander powder
  12. 1/2 tspCooking soda (baking soda)
  13. As neededWater (for prepare batter)
  14. As neededOil (for fry methi pakoda)

    Step 1 :- *To Prepare batter of methi pakoda* :- Take a big bowl and add all the ingredients and mix it properly. Now add adiquate water and whisk the batter by any handy Whisk,Beater or stirrer. It should be lump free semi thick batter. Your batter is now ready.

    Step 2 :- * Frying of pakoda* :- Heat enough quantity of oil in a wide frying pan over medium heat for deep-frying. When the oil gets hot enough in frying pan, take a little bit batter with your fingertips and drop a small balls gently into the hot oil. Do not add too many pakodas into the frying pan as they should have some space to move around. Stir occasionally for even frying.Once they are golden brown, remove and transfer to a serving plate.
