Ingredients

  • 1/2 kglamb or Mutton
  • 1 cupwashed white Lentil (urd or mash daal)
  • 2Onion thinly sliced
  • 1 tbspGinger garlic paste
  • 1 tbspRed chili powder or to taste
  • 1 tspTurmeric powder
  • 1 tspcoriander powder
  • 3tomato (puree)
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1 tspAll spice powder (garam masala)
  • 4Green chilies or as required
  • Halfbunch chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • 2 tbspginger (julien cut)
  • 1 cupOil

Steps

  1. 1

    Soaked the lentil 2-3hrs. Wash and boil 1 cup white lentil (reserve 2 cups of water use later).

    Take lamb, 2 cups water, ginger garlic paste, 1 tbsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp red kashmiri chilli powder, salt to taste, 2 chopped onion, tomato puree and 1 cup oil in the pan or pressure cooker and cook it.

    Boil the white lentil separately.
    When the meat tenders, add in the lentil.
    Add in 2 cups of lentil water (we are reserve earlier) 1 tsp all spice powder.

    In the end, add in fresh coriander leaves, 4 green chilies and chopped ginger. cook it for 5 minutes and serve.
    Serve Daal Gosht with chaapati or plain rice.
