Moong dal Panori
Steps
- 1
Wash and Soak moong dal for 3-4 hours. Drain off the water.
- 2
Grind the dal to a thick paste. Add only 1-2 tbsp water if required.
- 3
Transfer the batter to a bowl. Add salt, asafoetida, ginger chilli paste and rice flour to it. Mix well for 2-3 minutes.
- 4
Heat a glass of water in a vessel. Simultaneously spread the batter using a spoon on the back side of a plate as shown.
- 5
Once the water starts to boil, cover the prepared plate immediately and cook for 2-3 minutes on high flame.
- 6
After 2-3 minutes take out the plate and gently scrape the panori using spatula. Apply ghee and serve hot with ketchup and mint coriander chutney.
- 7
Likewise prepare other panoris.
- 8
Note- If the batter is thin then panori will fall into water. So make sure the batter is thick.
- 9
Do not add too much of water to the vessel else the water will overflow while cooking. Add water as required after every 2-3 panori.
