Fresh Cabbage Pickle Salad with sesame

Cabbage is good for detox.
This is Nepali style Cabbage Salad. Goes well as appetizer and side dish. Great for digestion.
We love this fresh cabbage salad made with cabbage & roasted black or white Sesame seeds. You can use both types of sesames ... whatever is available white or black....I have added poppy seeds also. So here's a detox salad with goodness of Cabbage, Black sesame , poppy seeds, lemon juice , turmeric and other ingredients.

Ingredients

1 hour
4-6 persons
  • 150 gmschopped Cabbage
  • as per taste Salt
  • 1 pinchturmeric powder
  • 1Small amount of onion chopped
  • 1Small amount of tomato chopped (optional)
  • 1 tspginger paste
  • as required Small amount of Coriander leaves chopped
  • 1Little green chillies chopped
  • as per taste Lemon juice
  • 2 tbspsesame seeds
  • 1 tbspPoppy seeds (optional)
  • 2red whole dry red Chillies (optional)
  • For Tempering
  • 1/8 tspFenugreek seeds
  • 1 tspmustard oil

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash and finely chop the cabbage and mix in salt and turmeric.

    Add in everything.

    Dry roast the sesame, poppy seeds and dry Chillies and grind it into powder....add that too. Heat mustard oil in a pan and add the fenugreek seeds to the hot oil and once it crackles add it to the salad and give a quick mix. Check salt and lemon juice add more of required...your Cabbage salad is ready. Bon Appetit!!!
