Lasagna and Cannelloni Bolognese Sicily

I had some ground meat, lasagna noodles, and cannelloni in the fridge. Since it's Sunday, I made these wonderful lasagna and cannelloni Bolognese. I never let anything go to waste.

I had some ground meat, lasagna noodles, and cannelloni in the fridge. Since it's Sunday, I made these wonderful lasagna and cannelloni Bolognese. I never let anything go to waste.

Make the Bolognese sauce: In a pot, sauté the diced carrot, celery, and onion in a little olive oil. Add the ground meat and brown it. Season with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Add the wine and let it evaporate.

Add the tomato sauce, adjust salt, and cook.

Make the simple sauce: In a small saucepan, sauté the green onion in a little olive oil. Add the tomato sauce, salt, and pepper, and cook.

Make the béchamel: Heat the milk in a large pot. In a separate pan, melt the margarine over low heat and add the flour, cooking for two minutes and stirring well. Remove from heat and slowly add the milk, stirring constantly. Return to the heat and cook until the béchamel comes to a boil. Season with salt, nutmeg, and black pepper.

Take a small baking dish and layer Bolognese sauce, lasagna noodles, and béchamel, repeating until all ingredients are used. Bake in a preheated oven at 430°F (220°C) for 25 minutes.

Prepare the cannelloni: In a large baking dish, spread tomato sauce and a layer of béchamel. Fill the cannelloni with Bolognese sauce using a teaspoon. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used. Top with tomato sauce and all the béchamel. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 25 minutes.

Serve the lasagna and cannelloni Bolognese Sicily hot at the table.
