Quick Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles

Last time I bought spicy hot pot base from the supermarket, and it works perfectly for making Dan Dan noodle sauce. This is a simplified version of Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles since you can use ready-made hot pot base. Give it a try!

Heat the cooking oil in a small pot, then add the bay leaves, star anise, and minced ginger. Fry until fragrant.

Add the ground meat and cook, breaking it up, until it changes color.

Add the minced onion and mix well with the meat.

Add the minced celery and mix well with the meat.

Add the minced garlic and mix well with the meat.

Add the salt, white pepper, and ground cumin. (Up to this point, the dish is not spicy.)

If you like it spicy, add the spicy hot pot base and simmer with the meat and vegetables until the meat absorbs the spicy flavor.

To serve, add the noodle sauce to a bowl, then add cooked noodles and vegetables. Pour the Dan Dan meat sauce on top and enjoy!
