Quick pan baked prawns & glass noodles

This dish is inspired by Chinese cooking. Originally we cook this in a clay pot and we bake them on the gas stove. However, I am making a cheat version in the pan (with lid) on induction hob.
Quick pan baked prawns & glass noodles
This dish is inspired by Chinese cooking. Originally we cook this in a clay pot and we bake them on the gas stove. However, I am making a cheat version in the pan (with lid) on induction hob.
Steps
- 1
Soak the glass noodles in cold water for at least 20 minutes while chop up some vegetables & bacons. Just leave glass noodles in the water.
- 2
Heat up the pan with vegetable oil. Add bacons and fried lightly
- 3
Add garlic m, coriander root (or stalk) and garlic. Stir fry them together until they smell nice and cooked.
- 4
Add a cup of water. Then add oyster sauce, soy sauce, maggi sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and rice wine into the pan. Bring it up to the boil.
- 5
When they are boiling, Add prawns in. When they turn orange on one side, flip them.
- 6
When prawns are cooked, add glass noodles on top. Stir a little then coat glass noodles in the sauce. Reduce to medium heat -high heat then close the lid for 3 minutes. We want glass noodles to absorb all the lovely cooking sauce.
- 7
After 3 minutes, add celery then close the lid for 15 seconds. Turn off the heat. Garnish with chilli and coriander. Then serve.
