Nikujaga Croquettes with Frozen Beef Soboro

I sometimes get a craving for croquettes.
By using a tasty beef soboro I made nikujaga flavored croquettes.
In New Zealand, croquettes are not so common, so they're popular with my multi-national friends!
-This beef mince has a strong seasoning. When mixed with potatoes it gives a sweet and savoury flavour overall.
-If you have leftovers, wrap each in cling film and freeze. Recipe by TetoNZ

- 6
Add the chopped boiled eggs, fried onion and minced beef. Mix gently.
- 7
Coat the portioned potato mixture with flour, eggs and panko in that order. Deep-fry each side for 2 minutes in the oil over a medium heat!
- 8
For the sauce, mix all the ingredients.

Dense and Delicious Nikujaga Croquettes Dense and Delicious Nikujaga Croquettes
I wanted to eat croquettes flavored like the traditional Japanese dish of simmered potatoes. When using a pressure cooker only a minimal amount of is added, so adjust the heat so that too much steam does not escape. The key to the dense, floury texture is to cook the potatoes whole! If you try to form and fry the croquettes while the potato mixture is still hot, or poke the croquettes, they may burst open. 'Nikujaga' Meat and Potato Croquettes 'Nikujaga' Meat and Potato Croquettes
I made this the first time with leftover nikujaga, and they were a big hit. Since then, I've been making extra nikujaga for croquettes for the next day's bento. The key is to cook it down well and to evaporate the moisture. The potato-meat mixture is soft when warm, but it will become easier to form once it's cooled or refrigerated.I wanted the nikujaga flavor to be enjoyed, so I flavored the croquette filling well so that you don't need sauce. If you like it sweeter, add a teaspoon each of soy sauce and mirin. Recipe by akiyoshizu cookpad.japan -

Bite-sized Croquettes with Cheese Bite-sized Croquettes with Cheese
I came up with these croquettes when thinking of ways to eat mozzarella cheese. I love how the cheese melts when it's heated. You can either boil or steam the potatoes. If microwaving, peeling will be difficult once cooled, so work while it's hot. Be careful not to burn yourself. When forming balls, make sure the cheese doesn't come out. If it sticks out, it will melt and dissolve when deep-fried. Recipe by yaburie cookpad.japan -
Ground Meat and Vegetable Butter Flavored Croquettes Ground Meat and Vegetable Butter Flavored Croquettes
My grandma used to make these delicious croquettes with meat and vegetables in them. I remembered them suddenly and really wanted to eat them again, so I recreated them the best I could from memory. These multi-ingredient croquettes are really delicious (although they'll never be able to beat my grandma's).Mash the potatoes roughly to retain their floury texture. In Step 3, some moisture will come out of the vegetables, so once they are sautéed, tilt the pan and suck it up with paper towels. If the vegetables are still watery the croquettes may fall apart while deep frying. For 6 to 8 croquettes. Recipe by annnnn cookpad.japan
