This local indian millet is loaded with minerals, fiber , iron and many more health benefits. Adding the jowar flour to boiled water makes it easy to knead and roll it.There is no need to panic if you cannot do with hands. Simply use the rolling pin.
You can have it with a variety of veggies, mutton curry, white butter, etc. It is a healthy substitute for the everyday wheat roti.

Ingredients

1 hour
2 people
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1cup water
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 tsp ghee

Steps

    Boil the water then to it add the jowari flour, salt and move it quickly with a big spoon. You will see the jowar mixing with the boiled water and lumps being formed. Switch off the gas.

    Cover this immediately and keep it aside for 10 minutes or so..

    Then after 10 minutes remove the cover and knead the jowari atta. See to it that it is kneaded nicely and no cracks are formed.

    Then roll out the jowari rotis with the chakla and rolling pin. Take some dry jowari flour for dusting. Very little flour should be taken for dusting.

    Then take a tawa and heat it. When it gets hot place the rotis on it. And roast both sides add a bit of ghee on top.
