Cooking Instructions

This recipe involves the process of letting the frozen rolls rise for 5 hours. Make sure you have the time! Begin by placing the frozen rolls on greased baking sheets and cover with plastic wrap that has also been greased so they do not stick to the top. Allow to rise for 5 hours.
- 2
Meanwhile, make your meat filling. Cook hamburger along with onion and seasonings until fully cooked.
- 3
Add in half of your chopped cabbage and also 1/2 cup water and cook down for a few minutes.
- 4
Add remaining cabbage and simmer until cooked down enough to get a lid on.
- 5
Simmer on medium low for 30 minutes. Once done, strain meat mixture.
- 6
Line the bottom of a large bowl with paper towels. Add meat mixture. This step is important to soak up the liquid remaining and will make sealing up the rolls much easier. I then place the bowl in the fridge until dough has completely risen.
- 7
Once rolls are ready, place one on a flat plate at a time and punch down and press out flat.Place about a 1/3 cup meat mixture in the middle. Bring up all the sides and give a little twist to seal.
- 8
Place seam side down on a greased baking sheet and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.
- 9
Enjoy with ketchup and mustard if desired. I served mine with my beer cheese dip and it was the perfect combo!

Our little loves hers with a hefty side of ketchup! 🤪

German bread German bread
I moved to the US from Germany and figured out the easiest way to get good bread is doing it on my own.You also can use just whole wheat flour or put in for example pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds or onions. This is just a simple and fast ground mix, vary it as you like.Once it is done let it rest for ten minutes then cut a few slices and add butter and a little bit salt ;-)You also can toast it the next day and do sandwiches.Don't put it in a plastic bag, just cover it so it doesn't dry out completely till you ate it all.My grandma used to do bread soup with the dry leftovers, for this best cut it in slices and let it dry...FloJeep
