Easy & Delicious Boiled Potatoes

I learned this recipe for boiled potatoes in my Home Economics class a long time ago. I wanted more flavor, so I added some margarine and now the kids love it. They prefer aonori to parsley as topping.

There's nothing to it!
Add the salt right when you start boiling the water to get a nice salty flavor Adjust the amount of salt to taste. Recipe by chyaaki

Steps

  1. 1

Peel the potatoes and cut into bite-sized pieces. Place into a pot filled with water. (Once you've added all the potatoes, refresh with clean water until the potatoes are just barely covered.)

  2. 2

Turn the heat to medium-high, and add the salt. Once it comes to a boil, turn the heat to low, cover with a lid, and cook for 6-7 minutes. Once a chopstick or skewer can pass through easily, turn off the heat.

  3. 3

Lift the lid a little bit and drain the water.

  4. 4

Add the margarine (or butter). Put on the lid and hold it shut as you shake the pot to coat the potatoes with the butter. Then, it's done! Transfer to a dish and garnish with parsley.
