Once the temperature drops, the ideal comfort food is a frothy and flavourful meatball soup topped up with mouth-watering egg-lemon sauce! 🍋 Yet another traditional Greek recipe my grandma used to make that made everyone "beg" for more! ☺️
Cooking Instructions

In a bowl mix the meat, rice, onion, garlic, parsley, olive oil, salt and paper until incorporated.

Scoop small portions of the mixture and shape it into small meatballs.
- 3
In a large pot bring the water to a boil, add the carrot, potatoes, salt, olive oil and the meatballs, and simmer for 40 minutes.

Egg-lemon Sauce: Add the egg yolks, cornstarch and lemon juice in a bowl, and whisk them very well (you may also use a small blender).
- 5
Add a ladle of hot soup to the bowl while whisking constantly until frothy.
- 6
Pour the egg-lemon sauce to the soup and mix gentle for a minute.

My mom asked me yesterday what I was thinking of posting for my next recipe this week, I had decided that I was going to make Giouvarelakia – Greek Meatball Soup. We had taken out all the ingredients, set them on the counter, but before I could start cooking I had a few things to do. When I finally went to the kitchen, to my surprise my mom went ahead and did everything from combining the ingredients to cooking the soup.. So, this means I have no other pictures than the featured image to show how this is prepared. I do apologise. 🙂This is a lovely, warm winter soup that combines beef, rice, dill and many more ingredients, that will satisfy that hungry feeling when your coming in from the cold. It has been rather cold here and what else better to eat than soups. 🙂 This one though is different because it also has that tasty addition of lemon juice which just gives each spoonful a WOW taste. (I was going to write a WOW factor but I think that would be a bit too much) hahaha Foodzesty -

Seen this recipe on social media, I didn’t know that this is a thing lol! I had some leftover meatballs from my meatball pizza, so I thought I’d give this a try something different other than meatball subs or in a pasta... plus there’s is veggies in this for the kids.... good for soup and salad night (everyone seemed to like it and asked for me. I didn’t think this would be a hit in my house hold , but it was I had none left, I was surprised.) I added some seasoning not in the recipe I do recommend using your favorite seasoning. 🌈NinjaMommaKitchen🌈 -
