Preheat the oven to gas marks 4-5 180°-190°C

Put the parnips in a large pan

Bring to the boil and cook for 20 minutes or until soft

During the last 8-10 minutes of cooking time add the cabbage to the pan

Once it is cooked drain out and make the mash with milk and a knob of butter also put seasoning in if you want

Then transfer the mince into a oven proof dish and spoon the bubble and squeak mash into the dish over the top of the parnips and cabbage

Put in the oven

And finally if you want serve with peas or beans
