Pan-fried Leek with Sesame Oil

I like grilled Spring Onion very much. I season it with a little bit of Salt or Soy Sauce. Have you tried it yet? You can see it at my ‘Lazy Yakitori’ recipe page. I tried to cook Leek in the same way. I am glad I tried it. It was delicious. Perfect for drinking.

Steps
- 1
Clean the Leek, especially green parts need to be carefully cleaned. Cut into 2cm thick pieces.
- 2
Heat Sesame Oil in a frying pan over medium low heat. Cook Leek pieces for 3-4 minutes until nicely browned. Turn them over, sprinkle with 1 pinch Salt, add Sake (Rice Wine), and cover with a lid.
- 3
When Sake is evaporated and Leek pieces are nicely browned and soft, it’s done.
- 4
Sprinkle with some Shichimi (Japanese Chilli Spice Mix) and enjoy. You may wish to add extra Salt or a little bit of Soy Sauce.
