Teriyaki Chikuwa Rolls with Quail Eggs

I used to deep-fry chikuwa wrapped quail eggs, but I wanted to make something lighter, so I cooked them in teriyaki sauce.
Evenly coat chikuwa rolls with katakuriko. The katakuriko thicken the sauce and helps cling the sauce. Toss the pan quickly once you pour in the sauce to prevent scorching. Recipe by kojyu

Steps
- 1
Boil the quail eggs and peels the shells. Cut the chikuwa in half lengthwise. Wrap around the quail eggs, and secure with toothpicks.
- 2
Put the katakuriko and Step 1 into a plastic bag as shown in the picture, and gently shake to coat.
- 3
Heat oil in a frying pan, and fry Step 2 until golden brown. When they become crispy, wipe off the excess oil with a paper towel.
- 4
Add all the teriyaki sauce ingredients to Step 3, and when they become shiny, they are done.
