White Forest Cake

A lovely cake and rich in taste . It just melts in the mouth

Grease a 7 inch round tin and dust it with flour.
Sift maida, baking powder and soda bicarb, keep aside - 2
In a bowl add powdered sugar, butter and milkmaid beat well, add milk and vanilla essence mix it well. Add maida in three batches beating well after each addition. Beat till the batter is smooth and light

Pour the batter in the prepared dish and bake it in a preheated oven for 30 to 40 mins at 180 degrees or till tooth pick inserted comes out clean. Remove the cake from the tin after 5 to 7 mins. Cool it completely before cutting the cake

In a bowl add whipping cream,vanilla essence, beat it till soft peaks are formed with the help of a hand mixer and keep in the refrigerator. Make the sugar syrup by adding 5 tbsp sugar and half cup of water mix till sugar dissolves, keep aside

Cut the cake into two halves. Sprinkle the sugar syrup on one half of the cake and spread some icing on it. Then place the other half of the cake on it and sprinkle the sugar syrup on it. Cover the cake with the icing and apply the grated white chocolate all over the cake. Decorate with gems or cherries
