Agedashi Tofu (Fried Tofu)

Using mentsuyu makes this easy to make.
When frying the tofu on the frying pan, doing so over high heat will make it nice and crispy (be careful though, as the oil will spit). If you can't find katakuriko (or potato starch flour) in a store near you, you can try using some cornstarch instead. Recipe by Nacchi sencho.

Cut the tofu into 4-5 cm chunks and drain the water.

Place the katakuriko and the tofu block from Step 1 into a plastic bag and shake to coat.

Heat a good amount of oil in a frying pan and fry all sides of the tofu from Step 2.

Once all the sides are fried and crispy, set on a paper towel to drain.

Once drained, transfer to plates, pour on some mentsuyu, and enjoy. Season them as you'd like.
