Kalonji Channay Aloo

Breakfast is an essential meal of the day. We had eggs, toast , jam everyday but Sunday’s are bit special as My Husband love to have some special breakfast. So thought to make kalonji ( Nigella seeds) channay as kalonji has many benefits including aid in blood sugar regulations, protect liver, lower cholesterol, packed with antioxidants and many more. My mom has a firm believe while cooking recite Bismillah and add pinch kalonji in all meals to get the benefits of this Allah’s blessed ingredients.

Soak channay and masoor daal together overnight. Next morning discard water and boil them.

Take 2 tbsp khalis ghee add chopped onion and brown it. Now add kalongi.

Add salt, cube, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masalah with 2 cups water.

Add potatoes and channay. Cook for 10-15 minutes.

At this step add meetha soda. This will give your channay amazing consistency along with you already added 2 tbsp masoor daal.

Give tarka of khalis ghee with bhuna zeera, bhuna dhania, green chillies chopped.

Garnish with onion rings. Serve with naan. Enjoy
