Cretan Dakos

This #TasteOfHome reminds me of my husband’s village in Crete, of care free vacations, lots of swimming and lazy days.
It is a local dish, a salad that can easily make for a light lunch consisting of barley rusks, juicy tomatoes, oregano, feta cheese and of course lots of olive oil.

Steps
- 1
Place the barley rusks in a large bowl. Grate the tomato on the coarse side of the grater. Pour the grated tomato over the rusks, juice and everything.
- 2
Drizzle with a splash of vinegar, add salt wisely, don’t forget that feta cheese is salty.
- 3
Crush the feta using your fingers into large chunks. Drizzle with the olive oil and add the oregano.
If you choose to add olives and capers do it now.
Enjoy 😊 !
