Ingredients

4 servings
  • 600 gramsPork chunk (any cut)
  • 1 dashSalt and pepper
  • 1 tbspMayonnaise
  • 1/2 largeOnion
  • 1 cloveGarlic
  • 3 tbspKetchup
  • 2 tbspOkonomiyaki sauce
  • 100 mlWater (sake or wine imparts a richer flavour)
  • 1Easy melting cheese

Steps

  1. 1

    Cut the chunk of meat into about 1 cm slices. If it's cutlets, there's no need to cut. Put small cuts in the surface against the grain, then pound the meat with the back of a knife.

    Add mayonnaise and work it into the meat. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes. Meanwhile, mince the onion and garlic.

    Heat a pan, and pan-fry both sides of the pork. You don't need oil because you're using mayonnaise. Sprinkle salt and pepper. Remove the meat from the pan.

  4. 4

    Add garlic and onion to the pan, and stir-fry until fragrant.

  5. 5

    Pour ketchup, okonomiyaki sauce, and water, and bring to a boil

  6. 6

    When the sauce is reduced by half, return the meat. Coat with the sauce, add plenty of melting cheese, and it's done.

  7. 7

    With pork filet. Any kind of meat will become tender.
