Lettuce Soup

Leafy greens and vegetables are great for our health. Lettuce, also known as salad leaves, is a leafy vegetable similar to cabbage and is packed with nutrients. It contains good amounts of vitamins A, C, and B6, as well as potassium. While fried snacks are popular during the rainy season, a hot bowl of soup is also comforting and healthy. Today, I made a soup with lettuce that is both delicious and nutritious.

Heat the butter in a heavy-bottomed pot. Add both types of onions and the garlic, and sauté for a few minutes.

Add the potato and sauté for a few more minutes. Then add the lettuce and cilantro, and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Pour in 3 cups of water (about 700 ml) and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender. Turn off the heat and let it cool.

Once cooled, blend the mixture and strain it through a sieve.

Add salt and black pepper powder. If the soup is too thick, add a little water. Simmer on low heat for 7-8 minutes.

Serve hot.
