Bosomat or Egyptian Breadsticks with Sesame Seeds

Bosomat or Egyptian Breadsticks are crisp and long or cylindrical tubes with some Sesame sprinkled on top. These are baked to perfection and are the best option for Snacking. The perfect accompaniment to the evening Tea or Shaam ki Chai.
And is best served alongside Mint Tea. Easily done with a few pantry staples, this one is a lovely option.
And not only that, this is a first-hand choice of many health freaks like me. Absolutely good for those weight watchers as well.
All in all a good treat to our tastebuds and I serve these with their everyday glass of Milk to my children. They just love them. And I am sure that your children would also love to munch on these.
And the best part is that you can add some more of Sugar and make them sweeter as well. That's a great variation also. Black Seeds can also be used instead of Sesame Seeds and can replace Whole Wheat Flour for Plain Flour. This dish is absolutely flexible and can be made accordingly.

Steps
- 1
Add Flour, Salt, Sugar, Milk powder, and Yeast to a bowl. Mix well and add melted butter to it.
- 2
Now add lukewarm water and start kneading the dough. Milk can be adjusted accordingly or can be totally skipped as well. Instead of water, you can use Milk as well.
- 3
The dough should be smooth and elastic. Cover and keep it in a dark place, preferably an oven to rise double in volume for about an hour or two.
- 4
Preheat Oven to 180°. Punch it down a little to release the air bubbles from the dough. Divide it into four equal parts and further divide each into small balls as seen in the picture. Roll each into long cylindrical tubes as seen. It can be done very easily by just rolling with our hands.
- 5
Make all in a similar fashion. Arrange them as seen on a butter paper-lined baking tray. Brush with milk and sprinkle some Sesame Seeds on top. Keep them aside for a second proofing for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile preheat the oven to 180°.
- 6
Bake for about 30 minutes or until crisp and beautifully browned. Store them in airtight containers and relish them after they come down to room temperature. Enjoy! Yum!
- 7
TIP- you can use a few Fennel Seeds in the dough if desired. It's optional.
