Ingredients

  1. 500 gmsseedless khajur/dates
  2. 2 tbspghee/clarified butter
  3. 2 tbspkhuskhus/poppy seeds
  4. 150 gmsmixed nuts (almonds,cashews,pistachios)
  5. 1/4 tspcardamom powder

Steps

  1. 1

    Take dates and remove all the seeds from them and grate it for a 1 min at speed 1. Now heat a pan and add poppy seeds and chopped pistachio and fry till poppy seeds changes color.

    Then add grated dates to a hot pan and keep mixing it till it comes together as a lump. Now add the fried poppy seeds and pistachio mixture and stir then together to mix well with the dates.

  3. 3

    Then we add the chopped nuts (almonds, Cashew nuts, pistachio etc.) to the dates mixture and stir then together on low medium flame. Lastly we will add powdered cardamom powder and mix it for 2 mins and turn off the stove.

    We will remove the mixture and let it cool a little bit for our next step.
    We will sprinkle our fried poppy seeds and pistachio mixture on the cooking platform and once the mixture is still a bit hot we roll it up cylindrical and then roll it over the sprinkled mixture to give it a nice texture.

    Now we take a kitchen foil/cling film and roll it firmly around the roll we have created and let it rest in the fridge for 30 mins.

  6. 6

    After 30 mins remove the foil/cling film you will see that the roll is now firm. Use a knife to cut small pieces out of it. This tasty and sugar free healthy sweet is ready to be served and can be stored for future consumption for guests.
