Sweet and Spicy Braised Pork Belly with Daikon Radish

Braised pork belly and daikon radish has been always one of the side dishes I make, but I added some changes to the recipe a friend's mum showed me. I made it more substantial using my usual ingredients.
The daikon absorbs the flavour as it is cooled down. It tastes better when left to stand for a while than eaten straight away. It is nice if you cook boiled eggs together with it. If you heat the daikon for 2 to 3 minutes in a microwave beforehand you can cook the dish quickly. Recipe by Nokosandon

Steps
- 1
Cut the pork belly into bite size pieces and fry in a pan.
- 2
Cut the daikon into about the same thickness (about 1.5 cm) quarter rounds as the pork and fry together with pork.
- 3
Fry until the daikon is browned (nice and crispy).
- 4
Grate the ginger and combine with other sauce ingredients (Do not use too much red chili. It might be too spicy.)
- 5
Pour over the combined the Step 4 sauce ingredients into the pan.
- 6
Cook for a while until the daikon is tender (add water if necessary).
- 7
When the daikon is tender, it is done. Very nice with rice! Boil eggs together with it and it will be good!
