This is quick and easy, a variation of the traditional suji or semolina upma. Here we use bread instead. Have a packet of bread and tired of the usual , give this super simple recipe a try.

Steps

15 minutes
  1. 1

Heat the kadai and add oil to it. When oil heats add the mustard seeds, curry leaves and slit green chillies

  2. 2

When all this splutters add the chopped onions and saute for 2 minutes stir them and cover for 2,3 minutes.

  3. 3

Open the cover and sprinkle some water onto the onions and stir, add the turmeric powder salt and sugar and mix.

  4. 4

Then add the shredded bread pieces to the onions and get all this together by stirring it properly for 2 to 3 minutes so that everything gets mixed properly. Then again sprinkle some water, mix and cover the kadai.

  5. 5

Let this cook in its own steam for 4 to 5 minutes. Keep a check by opening the cover and mixing. If you feel the mix looks dry sprinkle some water with your fingers. The gas should be on low throughout this process.
