Patty's Sweet & Sour Meatballs

This recipe makes a fairly big batch, but I can't really pin down number of servings because it inspires over-eating.
I often make a batch of this for friends and family who are in a state where they can't cook for themselves, like when they are moving, or similar.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Mix Meatball ingredients all together at once. Mush up thoroughly.
- 2
Form into balls by your preferred method. Fist-squeeze, melon-baller, two-spoons. Anything goes. Smaller meatballs cook quicker, and mix into sauce better.
- 3
Bake 375 for 30 minutes
- 4
Put all ingredients from Sauce section into a large saucepan. Like, much larger than you think you need. Heat over Medium; stir frequently.
- 5
When sauce begins to thicken, turn down to medium-low, and dump in all the Optional Veggies. Cook until veggies are as soft as you like.
- 6
Heat off, stir in meatballs. Serve over Lo Mein or Rice.
I prefer a Red Cargo Rice (So very Tasty!)

I love sweet n' sour, but my husband is picky about it. This is one way I can get him to eat it. Lol. I make this dish with fewer meatballs so it's on the saucy side then save the extra sauce for sweet n' sour chicken a couple nights later. StephieCanCook -

Chicken & Pork Meatballs! Sweet and Sour Sauce Chicken & Pork Meatballs! Sweet and Sour Sauce
I saw some ground chicken breast on sale! Chicken has a pretty light flavor to it, so when I decided to change half of the meat to pork, I ended up with especially tasty meatballs! This meaty and hearty dish lets you enjoy the taste of chicken without the greasiness of an all-pork recipe. If you like your meatballs chock-full of meat, reduce the amount of onions. If your onion seems to be on the watery side, make sure to squeeze the moisture out after chopping. After pouring the sauce onto the meatballs, simmer well to get rid of the acidity from the ketchup and vinegar. These are also good without doubanjiang! Meatballs with Sweet & Sour Chili Sauce Meatballs with Sweet & Sour Chili Sauce
I used the meat mixture I used for a meatball recipe I uploaded earlier, combined with the chili sauce I used in.Make the meatballs in bulk and freeze them - they're handy to have in stock. If you add 1 teaspoon of katakuriko dissolved in 1 teaspoon of water, the chili sauce will become slightly thickened like ankake sauce. I used 2 teaspoons of starch dissolved 2 teaspoons of water to make the sauce thicker. It won't leak if you put it in a bento box. For 2 servings. Recipe by Sabumochi cookpad.japan -
