Cooking Instructions
- 1
Collect the thick and fluffy Cream or Malai from the top of the boiled and cooled Milk. This is a slow and a steady process being carried out for a Month or sometimes even more than that.
- 2
It all depends on how much Ghee you want depending on your requirements at a time. After doing so, please keep the container in the freezer for best results. And when required to make Ghee, take out the containers and allow to defrost.
- 3
Take a wide mouthed kadai or a vessel. Add the collected Malai to it. Bring it to a rolling boil on a high heat at first. Then lower it down and let it bubble and froth.
- 4
It takes a good 1 hour of time or sometimes a bit less too. But never rush about it. Do it with patience. As it gets done, it bubbles and becomes frothy. Handle it carefully. Keep a distance while mixing it. And as it gets done, it becomes a clear solution of sort. The residue gets collected at the bottom leaving a clear solution which is pure homemade Ghee.
- 5
That's it. Let it cool down a bit before straining it into the jar. You can do it using a strainer as I did or even a Cotton cloth. Or a Muslin cloth to be precise. I did not churn Malai into Butter at first and then made the Ghee as many people do. Instead I used the Malai directly to make Ghee. This is the direct method of making Ghee that iam sharing here.
- 6
Store it and use it as required. Enjoy!

Ghee 🧈🥛 Ghee 🧈🥛
Ghee is essentially butter that has been simmered until the milk solids have separated and the butter has turned fragrant, semi translucent and golden. As opposed to regular butter (350°F or 177°C), ghee has a high smoking point (485°F or 252°C), so it’s perfect for deep frying or sautéing. And although it’s a milk derivative, it has no lactose, making it a great option for those with a lactose intolerance.Ghee is a word derived from Sanskrit that translates to “clarified butter”. In the last few years it has gained popularity in the USA but before, it was hard to find this item on the shelves. Now, almost all big chain supermarkets carry it, but to my surprise it is quite expensive at about $9-$15 for a small 9-13oz container. Instead, I will show you here how I make ghee for half the price and under 35 minutes. As always, enjoy in moderation 😁 Veggie K -

Homemade Hot Chocolate Homemade Hot Chocolate
Hot chocolate is always best when it's homemade. It's also nearly as fast to make it homemade as to make it from a mix, you just heat up the milk then stir everything together. This is rich and creamy, sweet but not too sweet. The chocolate is the star of this show, so use a good quality one...not only will it taste better but the chocolate will melt smoother also. I like Ghirardelli brand. This recipe is enough for either two large mugs or 4 smaller mugs. Christina -
