This is pure Ghee made from Malai collected over the time from fresh Cow's Milk. Isn't that awesome? It's a direct method without any churning etc.
It's done by many people all over the Country since ages. It's always a best alternative to the store bought one's. And there's nothing like pure and homemade anytime. Isn't it people?
And that's the reason why I do it always for my family.
Buffalo Milk also can be used. But I prefer Cow's Milk. And therefore I have shred this one with you all.
Not only is it easy to do, it's absolutely a bliss. It's pure and unadulterated. Beneficial for the whole family.
Lots of goodies can be made using it. It can be used in everyday cooking too. Desserts made with it are super delicious.
It's nothing but the best when it comes to health and well-being.
It's a nature's gift to us. Switch to healthy fats. Switch to pure homemade Ghee.

Wishing you all a cartload of health and happiness always!

Ingredients

1 hour
40-45 servings
  1. 2 kgMalai or Milk Cream

Cooking Instructions

1 hour
  1. 1

Collect the thick and fluffy Cream or Malai from the top of the boiled and cooled Milk. This is a slow and a steady process being carried out for a Month or sometimes even more than that.

  2. 2

It all depends on how much Ghee you want depending on your requirements at a time. After doing so, please keep the container in the freezer for best results. And when required to make Ghee, take out the containers and allow to defrost.

  3. 3

Take a wide mouthed kadai or a vessel. Add the collected Malai to it. Bring it to a rolling boil on a high heat at first. Then lower it down and let it bubble and froth.

  4. 4

It takes a good 1 hour of time or sometimes a bit less too. But never rush about it. Do it with patience. As it gets done, it bubbles and becomes frothy. Handle it carefully. Keep a distance while mixing it. And as it gets done, it becomes a clear solution of sort. The residue gets collected at the bottom leaving a clear solution which is pure homemade Ghee.

  5. 5

That's it. Let it cool down a bit before straining it into the jar. You can do it using a strainer as I did or even a Cotton cloth. Or a Muslin cloth to be precise. I did not churn Malai into Butter at first and then made the Ghee as many people do. Instead I used the Malai directly to make Ghee. This is the direct method of making Ghee that iam sharing here.

  6. 6

Store it and use it as required. Enjoy!

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
