Ingredients

  1. 2 Clovesfreshly Chopped Garlic
  2. 1 Tbspfreshly Chopped Ginger (1/2 ground & dried Ginger as substitute)
  3. 5 TbspHoney (substitute for maple syrup for vegan version)
  4. 1/4 cupsoy sauce (substitute gluten free soy sauce for gluten free version)
  5. 2 Tbspbrown sugar
  6. 2 TbspCorn starch
  7. 1 1/4 cupwater
  8. 1/2 Tbspcrushed red pepper (optional)

Cooking Instructions

    In a small mixing bowl, add 1/4th cup of water. Combine the cornstarch with the water until it’s mixed into a slurry.

  2. 2

    In a medium saucepan, combine your cornstarch mixture with your chopped garlic, ginger, the remaining water. Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, and honey. Whisk together until well combined.

    Bring the mixture to a simmer and allow it to continue to simmer until the sauce has thickened. (Around 4-5 minutes)

    Additional information: This sauce can be made gluten free if made with gluten free soy sauce. Honey can also be substituted for other syrup consistency alternatives like maple syrup or excluded completely.
