Tomato Bredie
For the love of tomatoes.

Place the meat into a ziploc bag. Put in the flour, close the bag and mix to coat the meat evenly.

Braze the meat in the pot with the oil, you might have to do this in 2 batches, and set aside.

Now braise the onions with the butter until it starts to
brown. Add the tomato paste and fry for 2 minutes. - 4
Now add the meat, garlic, ginger, tomatoes, salt, pepper, sugar, cumin, cinnamon, cloves and stock cube.
Simmer over medium heat for 40 minutes, stirring from time to time. - 5
Add the potatoes and carrots and continue simmering for another half an hour, stirring from time to time. Make sure the potatoes are cooked.

The bredie improves with keeping. Prepare a day in advance and leave to mature in the refrigerator. Reheat and serve with rice.
