Ingredients

  1. 3 tbspcrushed garlic
  2. 2 tbspchopped spring green onion part
  3. 1 tbspchopped spring onion part
  4. 1/2 cupcapsicum cut into cubes
  5. 1/2 cuponion cut into cubes
  6. 2-3slit green chillies
  7. as required Oil for frying
  8. as required Water
  9. as required Some more chopped spring onion-greens, for garnishing
  10. For chicken marination
  11. 250 gramsboneless chicken (cut into cubes)
  12. as per your taste Salt
  13. 1/2 tspblack pepper powder
  14. 1 tspvinegar
  15. 1 tspsoya sauce
  16. 1 tspgreen chilli sauce
  17. 1 tspred chilli sauce
  18. 1 tsptomato ketchup
  19. 1 tspgarlic powder
  20. Halfegg-white
  21. 2 tbspcornflour
  22. For cornflour slurry
  23. 1 cupwater + 1 and half tbsp cornflour
  24. For gravy
  25. 2 tspsoya sauce
  26. 2 tspgreen chilli sauce
  27. 2 tspred chilli sauce
  28. 2 tsptomato ketchup
  29. 1 tspvinegar
  30. 1 tspsugar

Cooking Instructions

    Firstly we will marinate the chicken for half an hour. For this take the boneless cubes in a mixing bowl. Then add salt, black pepper powder, vinegar, soya sauce, green chilli sauce, red chilli sauce, garlic powder, cornflour and half egg white. Mix everything well. Now keep this in a refrigerator for half an hour to set.

    Now let's come to capsicum & onion cubes. Add a little oil in a pan, now saute capsicum and onion cubes for about a min then keep them aside.

    Now let's come to frying of the chicken cubes. Heat some oil in a pan for deep-frying the chicken pieces. Now gently drop down the chicken pieces into the oil. Donot rush at a time. Fry them until it becomes crisp from both the sides. Fry the rest in the same manner. Remove them over a tissue paper and keep them aside.

    Now for making gravy, combine all the sauces like green chilli sauce, red chilli sauce, soya sauce, vinegar and ketchup; mentioned above along with the measurements (in the gravy section) Mix everything well and keep the sauces mixture aside. At this stage, keep the cornflour slurry ready too.

    Now heat another pan, add 2 tbsp of oil in it. Then add crushed garlic and slit green chillies, fry them for 30 seconds; then add chopped spring onion (green part and even the onion part) (measurements are mentioned above in the ingredients section).

    Now add the sauces mixture in it. Add the required amount of water too (about half a cup). Add some salt & sugar. Give everything a good mix. Now add the fried chicken pieces into it..

    Then add fried capsicum and onion cubes. Mix everything well. Keep the flame low. Cook it for about 30 seconds.

    Then finally add the prepared cornflour slurry to it and cook it for another 1 minute. Then sprinkle some chopped spring onion and your chilli chicken is now ready to serve.

    Serve it with some Chinese Fried Rice or with some Burnt Garlic Fried Rice. Belive me, it just tastes heaven.
