Christmas Cookies

It's Christmas season again! Besides yule log cake, I always make cookies first to decorate the table for everyone to enjoy with tea or coffee late at night.

It's Christmas season again! Besides yule log cake, I always make cookies first to decorate the table for everyone to enjoy with tea or coffee late at night.
Steps
- 1
Prepare and weigh all ingredients. Let the butter soften in a bowl, then mash it together with the powdered sugar and a pinch of salt until well combined.
- 2
Add the flours and mix until a smooth dough forms. Divide the dough; add cocoa powder to the smaller portion and mix well. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 10 minutes before shaping.
- 3
Prepare cookie molds, or you can use a container lid. First, use a little of the cocoa dough to form the outer 'bark' of the log, then add the yellow dough for the 'core.'
- 4
Draw lines on top to create a wood grain effect. Preheat the oven to 340°F (170°C) and bake for 30 minutes. Let the cookies cool completely before removing them from the tray, as they are fragile when hot.
- 5
Continue with other shapes. Soften the cream cheese. Whip the heavy cream, then mix it with the cream cheese until you get a thick, stable frosting. Divide into bowls and add food coloring. The main Christmas colors are red, green, and yellow.
- 6
Once the cookies are cool, decorate them as you like.
