Chestnut dressing for a 10 pound turkey

Ingredients

  1. 2 poundschestnuts
  2. 1 tablespoonolive oil
  3. 1/2 cupmelted butter
  4. 4 cupsbread crumbs two days old or (2) cups freshly mashed potatoes and 2 cups bread crumbs may be used)
  5. 1/4 teaspoonpepper
  6. Onion seasoning

Cooking Instructions

    Make an opening in each chestnut using a sharp knife. Pour olive oil over the chestnuts and bake for 10 minutes @ 425 f. Oven. Remove the chestnuts and take off the shell and scrape off the skin. Cook on boiling salted water until soft,drain and put through a potato ricer twice. Add the remaining ingredients and blend thoroughly.
