Ingredients

low 8hrs

6-8 servings

1 lbgreat northern beans
1ham bone, or 1 lb of diced ham, or hocks or shanks
2 tsponion powder
6 cupswater (see description above for alts)
Salt and pepper to taste

Rinse beans and sift out pebbles. Add all ingredients and put on low for 8 hrs.

If you use anything other than diced ham, pull meat or shred it and put back in the crockpot. Serve with cornbread.
