Ingredients

50 min
8 servings
  1. 8-10Gala Apples
  2. Lemon juice, water
  3. 1 cupsugar
  4. 2 tbspflour
  5. 1 1/2 tspcinnamon
  6. Dashnutmeg
  7. 2pie crusts
  8. Butter

Cooking Instructions

50 min
  1. 1

Peel, slice and core 8-10 med Gala apples. Add a little lemon juice and water into a big bowl and keep mixing it after adding apples. Once they are all sliced, in another smaller bowl add 1 cup sugar, 2 tbsp flour, 1.5 tsp cinnamon, couple dashes of nutmeg. Mix it together and sprinkle into apples. Fold apples until they are covered (I usually add the dry mixture in 3rds and stir in between).

  2. 2

For the crust I use the pre-made Pillsbury crusts but take them out of the fridge when you start so they are more flexible. Add 1 pie crust to the pan and pinch the edges.

  3. 3

Add in 1/2 of the apples, dot with butter then add the rest of the apples and dot with butter again. Slice the other pie crust into strips and add the lattice. Tuck in the edges.

  4. 4

Cover the edge with loose foil or a pie guard and bake for 25 min. Then remove the foil, rotate the pie 180 deg and bake for another 20-25 min. Take it out of the oven and let it sit a couple of hours and the filling will thicken up.
