Here I am sharing the recipe of a very popular sweet “ khoya makhana peda” which is usually made in every home on the occasion of Janmashtami.

Here I am sharing the recipe of a very popular sweet “ khoya makhana peda” which is usually made in every home on the occasion of Janmashtami.
The recipe is very simple and easy.
Steps

Boil the milk in a heavy bottom pan. Keep on stirring occasionally with a spatula.

Dry roast foxnuts and then grind it to fine powder in a mixer grinder. In a small bowl, soak saffron strands in 2 tbsp lukewarm milk.

When the milk is reduced to half add sugar and keep stirring. Once the sugar melts and the khoya starts to thicken, add the almond flour, foxnut powder, saffron milk and cardamon powder.

Keep on mixing the khoya until it all thickens and forms a dough like thick.

Let the mixture cool to room temperature. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape peda as desired.

Garnish with pistachios.
